In celebration of Mother’s Day, Cox Communication launched the “Super Moms” campaign to celebrate the hard-working moms who are raising children, pursuing careers, managing households, and bettering themselves through any means possible.
Wethersfield’s own Lynn Ofori has been awarded $1,000 and the title of Super Mom of the Year 2021. Lynn is a single mother of 5, who works multiple jobs while volunteering to help our community. She is a graduate of WECC’s UCONN PEP Parent Leadership Program 2017, member of the Hunger Action Team, member of Bike Walk Wethersfield, the Housing Authority Board, and more. During the pandemic, Lynn worked to fight food insecurity by packing Weekend Meals for kids and working at the Food Pantry. Throughout the pandemic, she also worked at Bob’s Coffee Shop (serving lunch to local residents) while managing distance learning with her own kids and still finding time to be a regular at the Wethersfield Library. How does she do it? We don’t know.
Thank you to Lynn and to all the moms in Wethersfield who make a difference in our community every day.
