Cathleen Love, Ph.D
Professor of Extension, Family & Consumer Science Educator
Dr. Cathleen Love is a Professor in the UConn Department of Extension specializing in Family and Community Development. Prior to joining the Department, Dr. Love was the Associate Vice Provost of Multicultural and International Affairs at UConn and a faculty member and administrator at New Mexico State University, Colorado State University and the Pennsylvania State University. Her awards include a Kellogg Fellowship, college teaching and outreach awards and national leadership in and service to diversity awards and she has written and/or administered several million dollars of grants. She served as an officer in several national associations and as President of two. Dr. Love oversees the People Empowering People program (UConn PEP) that is offered in communities and prisons across the state. UConn PEP is an outreach program that serves a predominantly low-income population. She also is the administrator for the Center for Learning in Retirement and the Adult Learning Program, which are lifelong learning partnerships with Extension.
